Note on Vovoder

Today I learn how to learn the Vocoder. It is a tool to use to twice around a voice. I learn how to make it go high or make it sound like the person isn't from this world. It is a really neat tool to use. I up load it from freesound.com.

This is just three uploaded songs from freesounds.com and it took me around 5mins to make it. it sounds great and it was easy to make.

Slicex

In this project I had to use the slicex which is the new slice beat. The slicex is faster and a lot easier then the slice beat. It slices it up for you. The slicex also marks the sound too. When you mark the sounds it is like making a note for you of what sound is what. For example if there is two kick drums and three crash and a snare. The slicex would mark kick 1 kick 2 snare 1 crash etc. When it is marking for you it helps when you wright the new patter in the piano roll. Which is the whole point of the slicex. To slice up a patter and re wright it to make a new pattern and have it sound different. It is a easy way to get a new pattern and/or to make your song sound better or different in a good way. I think it is a great tool because it saves you time from making a new pattern and you could double your song in length if you do it to every pattern and not sound to same through out the whole song. Few quick tips on using the slicex is 1. make sure you drag the pattern to the slicex after you open it. 2. you got to change the pattern in the piano roll. 3. If there is no sound then check the pattern is not a sample or you are on the right deck. (deck A or B) I say you should try using the slicex in your next project.
